Kelim Gashgai Rug

The Gashgai are Turkic-speaking nomadic tribes living in the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. Kilims are flat-woven wool rugs that can be used on both sides and are characterized by their traditional slit-weave technique, meaning the weft has slits where the colors change. These rugs feature classic Gashgai motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star patterns. Common colors include blue, yellow, red, green, and beige.
